Who We Are

Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail is a youth development organization that empowers young people to own their future economic success. JA ignites the spark in young people to experience opportunities and meet the realities of work in a 21st-century global marketplace.

JA offers activity-based, interactive instruction that focuses on entrepreneurship, financial literacy as well as work and college readiness. Local volunteers bring business relevancy to the classroom and reinforce the value of education. JA volunteers share real-world experiences to help students broaden their minds and believe in their own capabilities.

Founded in 1956 in Fort Worth, JA of the Chisholm Trail began with 19 sponsoring companies and 285 students.  Since its inception, JA of the Chisholm Trail has grown to over 150 sponsoring companies and 25,852 students annually.

JA of the Chisholm Trail is affiliated with Junior Achievement USA, the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness.  Junior Achievement was founded in the United States in 1919, as a high school afterschool program teaching students how to create and operate a business.  Junior Achievement USA now has expanded to over 120 U.S. offices and 123 countries around the world and reaches 9.79 million students annually.

MISSION:
JA’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.  Junior Achievement transforms the lives of students by showing them their own potential and making them aware of the world around them.
